Fitness and Exercise Solutions is a 3rd generation business dedicated to developing solid customer relationships, and providing the best quality commercial fitness equipment and service to our customers. In 1942, Simon and Agnes Gilles opened the first Gilles Schwinn Cyclery bike shop location in Evansville, Indiana. Their business prospered for decades, and Gilles became a household name. They had a reputation for providing high quality and dependable bikes, throughout the area.
In 1973, Simon and Agnes’ son, Bill, took over the reins, and this trend continued through the “bicycle boom” of the 70’s and 80’s. If you owned a bike in Southern Indiana during the latter half of the 20th century, chances are you bought it from Gilles.
When Bill’s son, Scott, took over in 1995, the business had spread out into multiple store locations across Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, while never abandoning its roots and reputation in Evansville. Focusing more on the growing fitness equipment craze in the early 1990’s, Gilles Fitness was eventually formed.
No longer only specializing in bicycles, throughout the 2000’s, Gilles branched out even further into the fitness equipment market, and began to focus specifically on commercial fitness, expanding their reach and introducing the Gilles name into Tennessee. By 2013, Gilles Fitness had become Fitness and Exercise Solutions, exclusively focusing on quality fitness equipment and service for our customers throughout Indiana ( Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Evansville, South Bend, Carmel, Fishers, Bloomington) and Kentucky (Louisville, Lexington, Frankford, and Bowling Green).
